FALMOUTH — With the help of WindowDressers, a nonprofit that builds low-cost insulating inserts that function as interior storm windows, Falmouth residents can keep out the cold this winter.

The goal of WindowDressers is to help Mainers reduce their heating costs and overall fossil fuel consumption by reducing the amount of heat lost through inadequately insulated or fitted windows.

The deadline for ordering inserts is Friday, Oct. 12, and specific measuring information is required for each unit requested. A community build will be held Nov. 10-12, and volunteers are needed at a variety of area build sites.

See www.windowdressers.org to order inserts or sign up to help. In addition, residents can contact Kimberly Darling, the town’s sustainability coordinator, at 699-5337, or kdarling@falmouthme.org, for more information.
