WALDOBORO, Maine – Ingeborg E. Leach, 82 years, a resident of Waldoboro, Maine formerly of Kennebunkport, Maine died Friday Sept. 21, 2018 at Lincoln Health – Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta, Maine after a brief illness.

Ingeborg was born in Frankfurt, Germany on March 13, 1936 a daughter of Henry and Ida Oefner and graduated from Frankfurt High School. She then graduated from University of Frankfurt School of Nursing.  She met Ronald Leach in 1956 while he was stationed with U.S. Army in Germany after the Korean War, they married in 1958.

In 1962, she moved to Kennebunkport, Maine where she was employed as a nurse at the former Webber Hospital (now Southern Maine Healthcare of Biddeford for over 41 years. She retired in 2002 and moved to Waldoboro, Maine.

Ingeborg loved farm animals, gardening, cooking and spending time with family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved late husband Ronald H. Leach who died in 2007, and her brother Karl Oefner.

She is survived by her beloved son, Thomas Leach and his wife Karen of Arundel, Maine and three beloved granddaughters Jamie Powers of York, Maine, Calli-Ann Leach and Katarina Leach both of Arundel, Maine.

Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, Maine where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at the chapel. Interment will follow at the Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport, Maine.
