BATH — Dot’s Ice Cream Shop, which has dished out lobster rolls and cold treats on the corner of Front and Elm streets in the heart of downtown Bath since 2011, is closing today.
“Yes, it is true..sadly, tomorrow (Fri 21st) will be our last day,” reads a post on the shop’s Facebook page.
The shop has opened seasonally, but it appears that it won’t reopen come Spring 2019.
“We will miss you all tremendously and we thank you for 7 AMAZING years here at 160 Front St! The future of Dot’s is uncertain, but new ideas are in the works” the post reads, “stay tuned for updates in the spring. We hope to see you all again very soon!”
“I’m having a hard time even sharing this,” reads a post from Main Street Bath, the city’s downtown economic development organization. “Dot’s has been a big part of many families’ little worlds in Bath.”
The shop will spend its final day helping others. Dot’s will be open from 4-9 p.m. as part of a fundraiser for the Bath Area Food Bank.
