BIDDEFORD — Dennis R. Tremblay, 62, a lifelong resident of Biddeford, passed away surrounded by his family, on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

He was born in Biddeford on July 12, 1956, a son of Raymond W. and Pauline T. (Ouellette ) Tremblay.

Dennis attended Biddeford schools and during high school, he played in the Biddeford High School marching band, where he met Yvette and their love for music led them to marry and have two sons.  Dennis also earned a degree in the Building Trades from Southern Maine Community College.

While he was employed at Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, he attended the University of Southern Maine, earning a degree in Computer Engineering. Dennis won many awards from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, while being employed for 38 years, for his work leading to over 12 patents in the production of aircraft parts and methods of fabrication.  Dennis also worked at Prestige House of Flowers during the holiday seasons, helping his cousins who were owners of the business.

Dennis was a very active parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Biddeford, serving as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and he was instrumental in seeing that the church was properly decorated for the various holidays, more especially Christmas and Easter. Christmas was a special time of the year where decorating the church and the family home, which would rival any Macy’s store decorations displays.  His two grandsons deeply adored their Pepere and will cherish all of their many wonderful memories with him. He was also an avid carpenter and jack-of-all-trades and was the go-to guy for anyone who needed help.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Pauline Tremblay, many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Yvette (Goulet) Tremblay; two sons; Andrew Tremblay and Matthew Tremblay and his wife Eliza; and two grandsons Koby and Graham Tremblay of Biddeford. He is also survived by his two brothers, Michael Tremblay of Biddeford and Guy Tremblay and his wife Patty of Old Orchard Beach; his mother-in-law Doris Goulet of Biddeford; sisters-in-law Madeleine Goulet and her wife Sonja Johnson of Arundel and sister-in-law Aline Jacques and her husband Deacon Kevin of Biddeford; two nephews Joshua Jacques and Lt. Zachariah Jacques USAF both of Biddeford. He also leaves many cousins, friends and co-workers at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.

Family and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will follow in the Tremblay family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on West Street in Biddeford.
