Biddeford Tigers
Coach: Caitlin Albert (5th year)
Last year’s record: 14-3
Key returners: Hailey Allen, Taylor Wildes, Paige Laverriere, Harmonie Coolbroth, Megan Mourmouras, Cori Cote, Brooklyn Goff, Charli Yoho, Abby Allen
Key newcomers: Jillian McSorley, Jayme Walton
Key losses (to graduation): Peyton Mckeown, Sarrah Marcotte, Katie Monson
Coach’s outlook: With nine returning starters back from last season and the best record Biddeford has seen in 21 years, the 2018 Tiger field hockey team looks to keep their steady pace to building the program and work hard all season. Senior leadership will lead the way behind captains Taylor Wildes (goalie, committed to Seton Hill), Hailey Allen (midfielder, Merrimack commit) and Paige Laverriere (forward, Assumption commit) as well as senior standout Harmonie Coolbroth. Three-year starters Megan Mourmouras and Cori Cote will pace the midfield and defensive zones, while junior Brooklyn Goff and sophomore Abby Allen, among some talented rookies, will be offensive threats and looked upon for their transition game. This team has individual talent that needs to be pieced together, and is ready to compete in every game and can’t wait to be playing at a Waterhouse field this fall.
Sanford Spartans

Key newcomers: Jada Kimball, Kassidy Plante, Maddy Romano

Coach’s outlook: The girls seem to have a great attitude this year wanting to really play as a team. Playing together like this, they could really surprise a few teams.
Noble Knights

Key returners: Kassidy Lessard, Alyson Gregoire, Emily Carleton, Aspen Dyer, Kaylee Mayotte
Key newcomers: Carrie Grace, Kassidy Winslow, Libby Hayden
Key losses (to graduation): Lost seven seniors.
Coach’s outlook: Noble’s team this year is on the younger side but they are gritty with strong kids and some exceptionally solid leaders. These girls work hard and work together and the potential is there for things to start connecting for them. We are hungry for some wins and a playoff spot this year.
Kennebunk Rams
Coach: Kayla Billings (9th year)
Last year’s record: 11-5
Key returners: Christine Jarowicz, Kaylee Gregoire, Grace Thompson, Olivia Durham
Key newcomers: Carley Lovejoy, Sam McGrath
Key losses (to graduation): Britney Gregoire, Lindsey Gregoire , Kylie DeFeo
Coach’s outlook: This years season will bring fresh faces to our field. We are embracing the concept of working as one unit on the field and taking advantage of offensive opportunities. Our goal is to improve and learn from each game so we can be contenders in the playoff season.
Thornton Academy Golden Trojans
Coach: Lori Smith (21st year)
Last year’s record: 10-6
Key returners: Cat Henaire, Abby Pomerleau, Jenica Botting, Grace Harbour, Lily Stark, Olivia Lambert
Key newcomers: Kaleigh Miller, Aliyah Bureau, Madison Vachon, Jenica Botting
Key losses (to graduation): Taylor Ouellette, Claire Decker, Paige Boudreau.
Coach’s outlook: We have a strong starting lineup. Our junior class is very solid. Most of them have two years of varsity experience. Lily Stark looks like she’ll have a break out season in the scoring circle. Cat Henaire is an outstanding player that will direct our play from the center midfield position. Jenica Botting and Madison Vachon provide depth in the goal cage and could prove to be the best goalkeeping duo in Southern Maine. Our captains, Victoria Labbe and Abby Pomerleau, are great role models. If we can focus on our strengths and put all of these pieces together, we should be a tournament team.
Massabesic Mustangs
Coach: Michele Martin-Moore
Key returners: Madyson Pomerleau, Grace Tutt, Emma Snyder, Anna Snyder
Key newcomers: Lacey Bean, Marissa Thyng, Isabelle Hurlburt, Sydney Sawtelle, Zoey D’Angeles, Grace LaFrance, Emily Morin, Noelle DesVergnes
Coach’s outlook: We graduated eight key players from last year’s team, so we are going to be ultra young this year. That being said, we still have four starters back (including our goalie) and a great bunch of motivated, skilled players that will be fast-tracked to varsity and I suspect will get us back to the playoffs.
Wells Warriors
Coach: Katelyn Rich (7th year)
Key returners: Delaney O’Brien, Emma Cousins, Nora Stevens, Lily Clough
Key newcomers: Rhiannon McQuaide
Key losses (to graduation): Jade Petrie, Samantha Bogue, Fiona Grady
Coach’s outlook: We are a fairly young team this year, however, the team chemistry and attention to detail in practice is already impressive. I’m hopeful that this year will be a strong year for us.
