BIDDEFORD — Joan S. Thomas of Biddeford passed away Aug. 27, 2018 at the Gosnell Hospice House.
The loving matriarch of a large family, Joan was born in Biddeford the daughter of Wilfred H. and Yvonne (Garon) Goulet on Aug. 3, 1936.
She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1957 and spent her life caring for others becoming a foster mother after retirement. A phenomenal woman who enjoyed spending time with family and with interests in travel, Scrabble, beach trips, needle-work making gifts for her family and in later years movies with her great-grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed attending theatre with her dear friend Betty Mutina.
Surviving family members include two brothers Raymond Goulet of Monroe, Connecticut and his wife Katherine, and Alan Goulet of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; three children Debra (Mrs. Wayne) Elliott of Biddeford, Maine, Michael Conley, and his wife Lynn, of Biddeford, Dennis Conley and his wife Patricia of Lakeland, Florida. Extended family includes 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held at St Margaret Church in Old Orchard Beach at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7.
