BIDDEFORD
Pittsburgh Penguin and Biddeford native Brian Dumoulin will headline a benefit skate at Biddeford Ice Arena on Saturday to benefit the Friends of West Brook Skating Rink.
The West Brook Rink, located in Biddeford, is in need of repair. The rink is almost 100-years old and needs serious care and upkeep to continue serving the community.
In response to the need, the community came together to create the Friends of West Brook Skating Rink, which is chaired by Rep. Marty Grohman.
“Come join a star-studded group of folks on the ice to support a great cause,” Grohman said. “So many people in our community learned to skate at this rink and we need to do everything we can to restore it. My deepest thanks go to everyone who is working to get this place back to its former glory.”
The event begins at 5 p.m. at Biddeford Ice Arena, located at 18 Pomerleau Street. Tickets are $10 for entry only, $20 for entry and the skate with Dumoulin and Maine Mariner forward Trevor Fleurent. There will be a raffle for great prizes and a 50/50. The arena’s new concession stand will be open to serve food and refreshments. The upstairs lounge will be open for adults with a cash bar.
