The Westbrook American reported on Aug. 27, 1958, that Glynford Stevens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Stevens of Marilyn Street in Prides Corner, left for boot camp at Great Lakes Naval Training Center.

Roger Harvey, Paul Seavey and Jeff Delcourt, all of the Rotarian Little League team in Westbrook, saw the Boston Red Sox play Cleveland at Fenway Park courtesy of Ted Williams and the Jimmy Fund. The three were winners of a local Jimmy Fund drive.
