BUXTON — A Buxton woman has been arrested for allegedly violating an order of protection prohibiting her from any sort of contact with her boyfriend that had been imposed by a judge.
According to Buxton Police Chief Troy Cline, officers responded to a residence on Foreside Drive about 5:10 p.m. July 28 for a reported domestic disturbance.
Cline said that upon arrival at the scene, Buxton Police Officer Keith Waltz met with the boyfriend, Birge Peterson, 43, who told police his girlfriend, Amber Quantrell, 38, had showed up at this residence and was intoxicated.
Peterson told police she had been demanding that he go and get her more alcohol.
“When he refused, she started arguing with him and was being verbally abusive to him,” Cline said.
Officer Waltz observed what appeared to be a full bottle of wine sitting next to where Quantrell was sitting, Cline said.
“Officer Waltz ran Quantrell through dispatch and was advised that she was the subject of a protection from abuse order that prohibited her from having contact direct or indirect with Peterson,” he said. “She was also not allowed at the residence and was not to threaten, assault, harass or otherwise abuse Peterson.”
Quantrell was arrested and charged with violation of a protective order, a Class D crime.
