Michael Chavis and Bobby Dalbec connected on back to back homers in the first inning to help lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 10-9 victory over Erie SeaWolves on Thursday.
Jordan Weems got Kody Eaves to fly out with runners on first and second to end the game for his fifth save of the season.
Chavis hit a two-run shot before Dalbec connected for a solo homer that gave the Sea Dogs a 3-0 lead.
Trailing 10-5, the SeaWolves cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Cam Gibson and Willi Castro hit two-run singles.
Dalbec homered twice and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two in the win. Chavis homered twice, driving home three runs and scoring a couple.
Portland left-hander Dedgar Jimenez (7-7) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on just three hits over six innings.
Opposing starter Alex Faedo (1-4) took the loss in the Eastern League game after giving up five runs and 10 hits over five innings.
