BATH — There will be a Praise in the Park service at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Bath Waterfront Park on Commercial Street. This is a free music event, open to all and hosted by the Bath United Methodist Church.
The evening will feature three bands playing various genres of Christian music, including the Bath UMC Bluegrass Band, a youth praise band from Freeport’s Pine Tree Academy and Rian & Chip, featuring all original repertoire in classic rock style.
During the transition time between bands, Bath UMC music minister Iris Fields and flutist Laura Malkin will be leading popular hymns for singing along.
“Many find worshiping God most meaningful out in nature rather than inside a building so we’re bringing worship outside by the river for an evening, said Rev. Gwyneth Arrison, pastor at Bath UMC. “I hope we might also provide an opportunity to worship for those who consider themselves spiritual buµt not religious.”
All are welcome. Bring a blanket or beach chair, and enjoy music by the water.
A rain date of August 30 is scheduled. For more information, call (207) 443-4707 or visit BathUMC.org.
