There’s a lot of new office space under construction or in the pipeline for Portland and surrounding towns: Wex’s new HQ on the waterfront, a mixed-use development including offices at Widgery and Union Wharfs, and Rock Row in Westbrook. A panel of local experts with look at how a boom in office space will affect the real estate market for existing commercial spaces and start to tackle the issue that confounds every growing city: with an influx of commuters, how long will we be sitting in traffic and where will everyone park?

On the panel

Press Herald business reporter J. Craig Anderson covers a wide range of topics including banking, finance, real estate, technology and entrepreneurism. Originally from Arizona, Craig graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona journalism school and has gone on to report for a variety of business and consumer publications such as the Business Journal of Phoenix, the Las Vegas Sun and the Arizona Republic. His work has earned him national recognition including Sigma Delta Chi and APA Journalism awards. Craig also served in the Army for four years, working as an intelligence analyst and Arabic linguist for the National Security Agency in Maryland. He currently lives in Freeport.

Drew Anderson practices in a wide variety of real estate law, including the purchase, sale, and development of commercial and industrial buildings and multi-family apartment buildings and complexes, leasing transactions for landlords and tenants, representing lenders and borrowers in loan transactions of all types, and assisting developers with residential and office condominiums.

Sam LeGeyt, broker, NAI Dunham

Sam is a graduate of UNH’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics and earned his degree in Finance and Management with a minor in Real Estate. Sam volunteers on the membership and marketing committee for MEREDA (Maine Real Estate Development Association), is co-chair of their DevelopME committee, and sits on the Board of Directors. He is on the Westbrook Economic Vitality Committee and also on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland.
