Rockland’s Lobster Festival kicked off in grand fashion Wednesday with the coronation of the Maine Sea Goddess and a parade of King Neptune and his court. The featured menu item – Maine lobster – was enjoyed by throngs of visitors from near and far, while others sampled fare from various other food vendors. The guided-missile cruiser USS Hue City was visible in the harbor, while its crew of roughly 300 visited the festival and downtown. The officers and crew will also welcome the general public aboard for guided tours, offered daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival runs through Sunday, with the big parade taking place Saturday at 10 a.m.
