The Scarborough/Cape Elizabeth Little League Junior All-Star Softball team won the state title and represented Maine at the Little League Softball World Series Eastern Regional Tournament July 20-26, in Orange, Connecticut. The team, which consists of 7th and 8th grade girls from Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth, went undefeated to win the state championship and went 20-3 on the season. The team made it to the semifinals of the Eastern Regional Tournament against Rhode Island and nearly pulled off a huge upset against the eventual champions, coming back from a 7-0 deficit to take an 11-10 lead into the bottom of the seventh before losing, 12-11.
