Christopher A. Levesque, age 31, a longtime resident of Naperville, Illinois, passed away on July 26, 2018, at Hinsdale Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1987, in Portland, Maine.

Christopher is survived by his loving parents, Mark and Deborah Levesque of Naperville, IL; his dear sister, Alicia (McGinty) Hartford of Naperville, IL; his nephew and godson, Joshua Hartford; his grandmother, Joyce Levesque of Brunswick, Maine; his aunts and uncles, Gregg (Eileen) Levesque, Betty (Bill) Carlow, Veronica (David Boyce) Richards and Rebecca (Tom Otto) Fontaine; as well as numerous cousins and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jean Guy Levesque, and John “Dick” and Florence Richards; and his uncle Butch Richards.

Chris was born in Maine and grew up in Naperville. He attended Elmwood Elementary School, Lincoln JHS, and was a member of Naperville Central High School class of 2005. While at Central, he was very active in the Tech Club. He attended Northern Illinois University, graduating in 2011 with a degree in finance. He went on to obtain a law degree from The DePaul University College of Law in 2015. At the time of his passing, he was working as an attorney for the firm of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood, & Boyer in Chicago.

Christopher loved to travel and never missed a chance to see the world. He visited 41 states. While attending NIU, he spent a semester at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark where in his free time, he visited 26 different countries. He also spent a month volunteering at an orphanage in Ghana.

His true life passion was Camp One Step by Children’s Oncology Services. An organization that provides empowering, supportive, educational and fun experiences for children who have been diagnosed with cancer. First as a participant and for the last 10 years as a volunteer counselor, he worked with many young cancer survivors at many camps to bring fun and normalcy to their lives. He made many great lifelong friends through Camp.

Intertwined throughout his life, he waged a courageous battle against cancer. First diagnosed with a bone cancer at age 7, he suffered subsequent cancers at ages 18, 20, and 30. Each time he met the challenge without complaint, a contagious positive attitude, and never asked “Why me?” He was truly an inspiration and loved so much.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, 3:00 until 8:00 PM at the Friedrich- Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 31, at 10:30 AM at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville. Interment will be private.
