PHIPPSBURG — The town of Phippsburg will be hosting its 5th annual Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12 in Sebasco Harbor, rain or shine.
Spectators can gather at the Ridleys Landing Dock in Sebasco Harbor at 155 Ridleys Landing. Parking will be provided at Bert and Callie Wells’ Field at 54 Ridleys Landing Road. A shuttle will run to the Dock every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., then after the Boat Parade for one hour.
Hot Dogs, chips and beverages will be provided by Phippsburg American Legion Post 216 for donations.
Commercial and recreational boats from all towns are invited to participate. They will line up just outside the southern entrance to the upper section of Sebasco Harbor by noon by Can Buoy #1. At 12:30 p.m. they will transit through the Harbor past the Acre Lot Wharf, Anna’s Waters Edge Restaurant, and by Ridley’s Landing Dock where they will be blessed by our local Pastors, and then end at Nun Buoy #4 at the northern end.
Participants can decorate their vessels.
The on-water coordinator will be Proctor Wells aboard the F/V Kahuna, the shore-side coordinator will be Mike Young. Boaters should monitor VHF- Channel 68.
