DAYTON — Gerald P. Guay, 79, of Dayton died Monday, July 23, 2018 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

He was born Oct. 3, 1938 to Raoul and Yvonne (Vaillancourt) Guay and was educated locally.

As a young man, he served in the Maine National Guard.  He owned and operated Gerry’s Mobil at Five Points until his retirement.

Gerry was a member of the Biddeford & Saco Elks Lodge, the St. Louis Alumni Association and the Knights of Columbus.   He enjoyed being a “gentleman farmer” and raising cattle.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Sylvia (Roy) Guay on April 10,1987, his infant son Gregory P. Guay on June 18, 1966, and a sister Jacqueline Boucher in May 2014.

He is survived by Christine Guay, his wife of 30 years, of Dayton; children, Lisa Marie Stewart and her husband Andrew of Phippsburg, Maine, Daniel R. Guay and his wife Diane of Kennebunk, James F. Guay and his wife Linda of Alfred, Regina N. Tuggle and her husband Clark of Arundel and Sarah E. Guay of Dayton; five sisters Anita Langevin, Claire Dubois and   Reinette Labbe, all of Biddeford, Carmen Dube and her husband George of Arundel and Nancy Brouillard and her husband Paul of Hollis; a brother, Donald Guay of Biddeford; nine grandchildren Marie, Joshua, Michael, Stephanie, Kaeleigh, Garrison, Jonathan, Sylvia and Evan; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
