Jazz ensemble
in free concert
The third annual Saco River Jazz Ensemble performance is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, on the lawn at the First Congregational Church of Buxton, known as the Tory Hill Meetinghouse.
The church, at the intersection of routes 202 and 112, invites everyone and says attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets. There is no admission charge, but a free will offering to support the ensemble is welcome.
The nonprofit ensemble’s website describes it as “a community big band swing/jazz band” with members from high school age to seniors. It plays music from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
Refreshments will be available for purchase including hot dogs, chips, and water and soda. The concert will move inside the church in the case of rain.
