SOUTH PARIS
A three-run sixth inning carried seventh-seeded Topsham Post 202 to a 4-3 upset victory over No. 2 Bessey Motors of Oxford Hills on Saturday.
The win sends Topsham to the Junior American Legion Tournament at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.
Cam Daly and Coenradt Taylor combined to hold Bessey to just five hits and single runs in the second, fourth and fifth frames. Daly went four innings, permitting four hits, while Taylor closed things out with three solid frames on one hit, two walks and two strikeouts.
Eli Ouellette was 2-for-3, including a double, and scored a pair of runs in the win, while Holden Brannan had a pair of singles. Lukas Holman’s two-run single in the sixth broke a 2-2 tie.
Andrew Binnett went 5 1/3 innings for the hosts with three strikeouts. Dean Sinkler and Jacob Mills also pitched. Duncan Hurd singled and doubled, with Keegan Watson adding two singles.
