AUBURN – John R. Yankura, Jr., 51, a resident of Lewiston, passed away Friday, July 13 at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn.
He was born Feb. 27, 1967 in Saco, the son of John R. Yankura, Sr. and Carlyne (Cole) Yankura. He was a 1985 graduate of Thornton Academy in Saco. He worked for Delta Airlines and later as a cook and bartender at Wormwood’s Restaurant in Cape Ellis.
John was a member of the Elks Club in Saco and Omega Sigma Beta Fraternity at the University of Presque Isle. John was a pet lover, and enjoyed watching his son John play football, watching and playing baseball, soccer, walking, and reading.
He is survived by his children, John R. Yankura, III and his companion Sam Whiting of Jay, Calli Yankura of Augusta and Adrienne Bowie of Portland, siblings, Pam Yankura, Patty Flagg, Susie Pitfick, Thomas Yankura and Lisa Yankura-Bouffard and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
