YORK COUNTY — Two suspects were arrested by law enforcement agents for alleged drug trafficking activities last weekend in York County.

According to York County Sheriff William L. King, Jr., deputies from the York County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Maine State Police PACE Unit and agents from the FBI stopped a vehicle about 11 p.m. Saturday evening at a location in Springvale.
During a search of the vehicle, more than 350 grams of suspected fentanyl was discovered.
King said the street value of those drugs was estimated at $36,500.
Deputies arrested Freddy Michel Peguero-Matos, 27, of Boston, Massachusetts and Laurie A. Fantasia, 45, of Nashua, New Hampshire, and charged them with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, a Class A felony crime.
Peguero-Matos remains in the York County Jail with a bail set at $100,000. Fantasia posted bail of $50,000 and was released Tuesday awaiting trial on the charges.
Both are scheduled for court appearances in Alfred Superior Court on Oct. 3, King said.
