PORTLAND
Tate Matheny hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning, driving in Michael Chavis with the go-ahead run, as the Portland Sea Dogs defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 5-4, on Thursday in Eastern League baseball action.
Chavis scored after he reached base on a walk, advanced to second on a walk by Jantzen Witte and then went to third on a walk by Luke Tendler.
Travis Lakins (2-2) picked up the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Kirby Snead (2-3) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
