
KENNEBUNK — A spectacular art show and gala event called “Summer Splash II” in Kennebunkport on July 18 is planned to promote Art Guild of the Kennebunks membership and upcoming exhibitions.
According to Wendy Webster Good, Art Guild of the Kennebunks president, the organization’s annual art show and gala will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at at the Colony Hotel, 140 Ocean Ave. in Kennebunkport.
Good said that activities at the art show include a “Meet the Artists” reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and entertainment provided by Lisa Mills and the Ocean Ave Band.
The event is free and the public is welcome to attend the art show and gala.
“The Art Guild of the Kennebunks offers exhibitions in which only juried Members may exhibit their art,” Good said.
At present, the art guild has about 80 juried members, she said.
“Additional shows this season include Sept, 7 to 9 at the South Congregational Church Community House in Kennebunkport,” Good said.
Art guild member John Forssen has donated his pastel painting “Almost Home,” which will be raffled off at 7 p.m. during the event to benefit the AGK Scholarship Fund.
“As a 5013(c) non-profit organization, the guild appreciates donations to its local scholarship fund,” Guild said.
