LAST MONTH, the Brunswick Elks Lodge, in partnership with the Brunswick School Department and Skills USA, hosted a cookout for the Perryman Drive Community. Volunteers prepared and served food, and for the kids there was face painting and gift bags. Food services were provided by Brunswick School Department. The Elks send a thank-you to Food Services Director Scott Smith and his crew Sally Conrad (also a member of the Brunswick Elks) and Marianna Beardsley. Face painting was provided by volunteers from Skills USA at Maine Vocational School Region 10: Advisor Christy Smith and her volunteers Shelby Bishop, Dan Pratt, Jacob Kirchner, Pam Pratt, Michael Black and Kallista Chandler. The Brunswick Elks Lodge Drug Awareness Committee planned the event with funding from the Elks National Foundation. Committee Chairperson Denise Goupil along with committee members Tammy St. Jean, Jim Oikle, Barbara Wildes, Bob Thiboutot, Sally Conrad, Miriam Webber and Deanna Purington volunteered through all phases of the event.
