BRUNSWICK
The Brunswick High School field hockey and football teams will square off as they raise money for The Maine Children’s Cancer Network and Drive Out Cancer.
The event will take place on July 14 from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. These teams are passionate about the fight against cancer, especially in children.
This year Coach Cooper’s team will battle Coach Paquin’s team in a field hockey battle. In 2019, the teams will play each other in a football game, with hopes to alternate annually.
The two teams aren’t only playing for bragging rights, but also to see which team can get the most monetary donations for a great cause. Every donor will receive a pink Cancer Awareness bracelet as one of our own family members is battling this cancer.
The teams would love to see as many community members on the field as possible that night. Food will be available and a portion of those proceeds will also be donated.
All donations made will help support The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and the Mt. Ararat Drive Out Cancer event on Aug 25.
Donations can be made ahead of time at http://events.mmc.org/site/ TR/Events/General?team_ i d=1940&pg=team&fr_ id=123 1 (please put in comments which team your are donating to) or at the event itself.
