WISCASSET

The first Wiscasset Art Walk of the 2018 season — known by regulars as its Love Fest event — will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.

Balmy weather is firmly ensconced, the bulk of garden work is done, and, for many, this is the community’s first social event that celebrates the abundant riches of a summer in Midcoast Maine.

Wiscasset Art Walk invites local residents and visitors to stroll the Village center and enjoy an evening in this historical riverfront town. Peruse the offerings of our community participants throughout the season.

The historical context of this 18th century ship building community is also on display through complimentary tours at Historic New England’s

Nickels-Sortwell House and Wiscasset’s self-guided Museum in the Streets, now with a new app.

Wiscasset’s art walks take place from 5-8 p.m. the last Thursday of the summer months — June 28, July 26, Aug. 30, and Sept. 27.

Participant sites are marked with colorful streamers and touring maps are available throughout the village.
