WATERVILLE — Local students were recently named to the highly selective Dean’s List at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

Each student is one of 438 Colby students-or 23 percent of the qualified student body-to qualify for the Dean’s List last semester. Students earned a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher to qualify the dean’s list last semester.

Stduents achieving this distinction include:

• Tamar E. Cimenian a member of the Class of 2020, attended Wells High School and is the daughter of Sonny and Irma Cimenian of Wells, Maine. She majored in psychology.

• Katherine A. Gillespie, a member of the Class of 2019, attended Thornton Academy and is the daughter of Scott and Elizabeth Gillespie of Arundel. She majored in government.

• Olivia E. Hammer-Grant, a member of the Class of 2019, attended Kennebunk High School and is the daughter of Robyn Hammer of Kennebunk, and Edward Grant of Reading, Massachusetts. She majored in English with a concentration in creative writing and French studies.

• Devyn R. Harding, a member of the Class of 2020, attended Wells High School and is the daughter of Zachary and Tina Harding of Wells. She majored in English and Spanish.

• Catherine L. Ledue, a member of the Class of 2019, attended Sanford High School and is the daughter of Claire Ledue of Springvale, and Thomas Ledue of Springvale. She majored in anthropology.

• Sarah C. Montembeau, a member of the Class of 2021, attended Robert W Traip Academy and is the daughter of Stephen and Pamela Montembeau of Kittery Point. She majored in chemistry-biochemistry.

• Gillian M. Morris, a member of the Class of 2018, attended Sanford High School and is the daughter of Margaret Morris of Sanford, and John Morris of Center Ossipee, New Hampshire. She majored in philosophy.

• Hannah R. Richelieu, a member of the Class of 2021, attended Kennebunk High School and is the daughter of Alicia Richelieu of Kennebunk. She majored in biology.

• Jason T. Beland, a member of the Class of 2018, attended Marshwood High School and is the son of Michael Beland and Tracy Goller of South Berwick. He majored in economics with a concentration in financial markets and French studies.

• Hannah J. Bossi, a member of the Class of 2018, attended Marshwood High School and is the daughter of Vincent and Kathleen Bossi of South Berwick. She majored in physics and computer science.

• Erica L. Suttles, a member of the Class of 2020, attended Massabesic High School and is the daughter of Jennifer Whatley of Alfred. She majored in classical civilization.

• Madeline A. Taylor, a member of the Class of 2019, attended Wells High School and is the daughter of Michael and Debra Taylor of Wells. She majored in psychology and government.
