HARRISBURG, Pa.
Tate Matheny doubled twice and singled twice, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two as the Portland Sea Dogs defeated the Harrisburg Senators, 6-2, on Sunday in Eastern League baseball action.
Austin Rei homered and singled for Portland.
Portland went up 3-0 in the fourth after Matheny and Deiner Lopez scored on an error.
Harrisburg answered in the bottom of the frame when Adam Brett Walker hit a two-run home run to get within one.
The Sea Dogs later added a run in the sixth and two in the eighth. In the sixth, Matheny scored on a ground out, while Matheny hit a two-run single in the eighth.
Starter Teddy Stankiewicz (5-5) got the win while Logan Darnell (3-3) took the loss in relief in the Eastern League game.
For the Senators, Walker homered and doubled, driving in two runs.
The Sea Dogs host Bowie on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
