Against the Eagles, Brunswick used a strong showing in doubles to take control early. Dragons Abby Parke and Galen Gaze rolled to a 6-3, 6-1 win over Messalonskee’s Gracie Vicente and Magen Williams at No. 1 doubles, while Brunswick’s Ella Perham and Erin Coughlin captured a 6-0, 6-1 win over Gabby Wood and Emma Kenard at No. 2.
Brunswick quickly secured the match in singles. At No. 2, Lea Scrapchansky defeated Messalonskee’s
Amanda Wiswell, 6-1, 6-0, while at No. 3, Sara Scrapchansky secured a 6-4, 6-2 win over Elena Guarino.
The Eagles earned their lone point at No. 1 singles, with Lauren Bourque defeating Brunswick’s Anna Parker, 6-2, 6-1.
Brunswick, 13-1, meets Lewiston in a rematch of last season’s regional final, won by the Dragons, 3-2.
This season the teams have met twice. Lewiston captured a 5-0 regular-season win on May 7. The Blue Devils also won the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Championship, 4-1, and enter Tuesday’s match with a 14-0 record.
