MANCHESTER, N.H.
Nick Lovullo hit an RBI single in the top of the 10th inning to help lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 12-9 Eastern League win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Thursday.
Luke Tendler scored the go-ahead run on the single after he started the inning on second and advanced to third on a single by Jhon Nunez. The Sea Dogs later scored four more runs in the inning, including a single by Josh Ockimey that scored Jeremy Rivera.
In the bottom of the inning, New Hampshire scored on an error that brought home Max Pentecost and Gunnar Heidt. However, the rally ended when Jordan Weems struck Juan Kelly out to end the game.
Josh Taylor (1-1) got the win with two innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Nick Hartman (1-1) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
In the losing effort, the Fisher Cats recorded a season high eight extra base hits. Heidt tripled and doubled, scoring two runs for the Fisher Cats. Bo Bichette homered and singled, driving in two runs.
