TOPSHAM — Mt. Ararat eighth-grade baseball team downed rival Brunswick, 14- 9, recently.
The Huskies put on a big comeback, with six runs in the bottom of the seventh, but fell short.
Cody Bowker, Kyle Brannon, Ryan Robertson and Ty Henke were offensive standouts for the Eagles. Bowker also had a solid defensive game.
Henke and Carson Taylor toed the rubber for Mt. Ararat, allowing 12 hits, four walks and striking out five.
Sam Masse led the Brunswick offense with three hits. Cal Wilby, Weston Cooper and Sam Cassidy each had a pair of hits in the loss.
Dolan Pols and Wilby shared the mound duties, allowing nine hits, two walks, while striking out five batters.
