SACO  — Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, is the site of the York County Senior College annual field trip.

Scheduled for Monday, June 18, the trip takes YCSC members and non-members to one of the most scenic spots in the Ossipee Mountain Range, where millionaires Thomas and Olive Plant set their mountaintop estate.

Visitors will go on a self-guided tour of the museum, and will experience the Art Gallery, which this season features a special exhibit, “Finding Place on Paper:  Contemporary Poets and Printmakers Explore the Lakes Region and White Mountains.” Lunch will take place at the Carriage House Restaurant.

The bus for this trip departs from the Saco Park and Ride at 9:30 a.m. and departs Castle in the Clouds at 4:00 p.m.  Cost for the trip, which includes transportation, admission to the Castle and lunch is $50 for YCSC members and $60 for non-members.

York County Senior College, providing low cost educational and social opportunities for adults, is affiliated with the University of Maine System. Classes in the spring and fall semesters are given in Saco and Springvale, starting in March and September. Winter lectures are open to the public; membership in Senior College is not required.

The mission of York County Senior College is to provide a curriculum of intellectually stimulating learning opportunities and special activities for persons 50 years of age or older.  Begun in 1999, Senior College is governed by a volunteer committee who oversees its general operations.  York County Senior College is a program of the University of Maine System University College.
