POLAND — The Wells baseball team improved to 13-2 on the season with a 11-3 victory over Poland on Friday evening.
Michael Wrigley smacked a three-run homer in the first inning to help the Warriors pick up the win. Wells, which had 17 total hits, was led by Tyler Bridge’s 4-for-5 performance at the plate. Wrigley had three hits and drove in four runs, while Gary Andrews added three singles in the win.
Softball
Thornton Academy 11, Windham 10
The Golden Trojans scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings and then won it with a run in the 12th.
Hannah Collins led TA with two hits and four RBI, and Kaitlin Verreault added three hits and one RBI in the win.
TA would also get two hits and two RBIs from Sarah Casey. Louisa Colucci went the distance in the circle with 11 strikeouts.
Noble 13, Maine Girls’ Academy/Falmouth 1 (5 innings)
The Knights would get four hits, including a home run, and five RBIs from Kelsey Lessard as they picked up their 15th win of the season.
Emily Sanfacon had three singles and Mackenzie Aleva added a pair of doubles for Noble (15-1).
Raegan Kelly struck out nine while allowing just one run on two hits.
Sanford 9, Cheverus/NYA 8 (8 innings)
Grace Curley had a pair of hits and two RBIs to help Sanford rally for the win on Friday.
Sanford scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to force extras and then rallied again in the bottom of the eighth with two more runs.
Molly Boissonneault added two hits and one RBI for Sanford, which closed out the season with a 2-14 record.
