Brynn Hink

Brynn Hink, Sacopee Valley softball: The senior pitcher led the Class C South-leading Hawks to three dominating victories. She no-hit Greely, striking out seven and walking three in an 8-1 win (also hitting a home run and driving in two runs). She allowed three hits and three walks in a 7-1 win over Fryeburg Academy with three strikeouts. She allowed three hits and two walks in a 2-0 win over Richmond.

HONORABLE MENTION

Paige Laverriere, Biddeford lacrosse: The junior midfielder became Biddeford’s all-time leader in goals when she scored five times in a 19-8 victory over Deering. Laverriere’s third goal of the day moved her past 2016 graduate Taylor Turgeon, who had 96 career goals. Laverriere added two goals in a win against Bonny Eagle to go over 100 career goals.

Kelsey Currier, Greely softball: The senior pitched two strong games to help the Rangers win twice. She struck out seven in a 4-1 win over Lincoln Academy. Then she struck out 10 in a 2-1 road win over Wells that went nine innings. She also scored the winning run in the ninth after a double.

Mia Taranko, Thornton Academy track and field: At the York County championships in North Berwick, the sophomore won two events and soared to a top state mark in the long jump with her jump of 18 feet, 3 inches. Taranko also won the triple jump (34-9.50).

Nate Martineau

Nate Martineau, Sanford baseball: The senior captain helped the Spartans (5-8) win three games in three days to keep their playoff hopes alive. Martineau picked up the save in a 3-1 win against Gorham, had three hits and the win in relief as the Spartans beat Scarborough, 4-3, then had three hits in an 8-3 win against Westbrook.

HONORABLE MENTION

Travis Snyder, Thornton Academy track and field: The junior won four events at the York County championships, capturing the 110-meter hurdles (15.08), the 300 hurdles (41.75), the pole vault (13-feet) and the long jump (20-3).

Tommy Lekousi, Windham lacrosse: The junior midfielder led the Eagles to a 12-10 win at Gardiner with six goals as the Eagles won their seventh straight game. Lekousi also had seven goals and three assists in a 16-10 victory against Biddeford.

Aidan Kieffer and Ben Adey, Waynflete tennis: Kieffer and Adey, both freshmen, teamed up for the Western Maine Conference doubles championship over a field of 12. They are also undefeated in team competition, 7-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles, to help the Flyers to a 12-0 record so far this season.
