Arestedis (Ted) Demosthenes, 94, of Brunswick, and formerly of Rochester, NH died peacefully on May 23, 2018. He was born in Dover, NH to Peter and Katherine ( Zerbinopoulos) Demosthenes on June 24, 1923 and was the fourth of eleven siblings.

Ted attended the University of New Hampshire and later served in the US Army as a welder and company supply sergeant during World War II. He worked as a memorial salesman and owned his own business before retiring. He was a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Churches of Dover and Somersworth, NH.

Ted enjoyed vegetable gardening and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Ted found endless joy in the love that he shared with his family. He was a thoughtful and generous man who will be greatly missed.

Ted was predeceased by his ten siblings: Demos Demosthenes, Elias Demosthenes, Amalia Wood, Alice Demosthenes, Sophie Toland, Alexandra Demosthenes, Basil Demosthenes,

George Demosthenes,

He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Valerie (Cossette) of Brunswick, a daughter, Ann Clark and her husband Harry of Portsmouth, NH and two sons, John Demosthenes of Auburn, and James Demosthenes and his wife Deborah of Topsham. He also leaves behind four grandsons, Ryan Clark, Bradley Clark and his wife Brittany, Nicholas Demosthenes, and Jacob Demosthenes.

At his request, there will be no calling hours.
