BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Junior High School eighth-grade softball team upset Tripp, 17-9, on Tuesday.

Down three, Mia DeSantis entered as relief pitcher in the first inning and went the rest of the way to earn the win.

Morgan Foster got the Brunswick offense started with a first-up hit followed by a Kelsey Sullivan triple. Getting to base on a walk, Mia Klimash stole her way around the bases to tie the game, 3-3.

Tripp went ahead by one in the second, but Brunswick’s active second inning garnered 10 additional runs with hits by Grace DePalmer, DeSantis, Foster, Kelsey Sullivan, Blake Austin, Bri Campbell and Riley Smith.

A Tripp pitching change held the Huskies scoreless in the third and fourth innings, and Tripp chipped away with runs in the third and fifth.

Defensively, Riley McAllaster came up with a big catch in left field for the Huskies, while Abby Sharpe was solid at first base.

Brunswick added four more runs to seal the win with hits by McAllaster, Austin and Logan Brown.
