FALMOUTH — A lot of teams would have thrown in the towel after an 0-10 start to the season — not the Massabesic baseball squad.
The Mustangs, who won their first game of the season on Saturday, followed that up with an impressive 9-2 win over a tough Falmouth squad on Tuesday.
Nick Roberge and Alex Schepis each had two-run singles during a six-run fifth inning for the Mustangs, who are now 2-10 and still in the mix for the final Class A South playoff spot.
Roberge got the win on the mound as he went four innings with just two runs allowed and one strikeout. Freshman Ben Carroll didn’t allow a run as he closed things out on the hill for Massabesic.
Tyler Lambert led the Massabesic offense with four hits and Jake Gregoire added three hits in the win.
Falmouth took a 2-0 lead in the second, but Massabesic answered with three runs in the third — led by a two-run single from Seth Wakefield.
