TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee baseball team defeated Lincoln Academy, 8-4, and Brunswick, 24-4, in recent action.
Against Lincoln Academy, Mt. Ararat’s Kyle Secone and Cody Holman split time on the mound, giving up three hits, walking eight and striking out six. Willy Kavanaugh had two singles, JD Dionne doubled, and Cody Holman, Holden Brennan, Ian Brady, Cal Davies, Conner Smith, Dan Pratt added singles.
In the “Battle of the Bridge” contest, Mt. Ararat rolled by rival Brunswick.
Eli Ouellette singled twice, and Kody Clark, James Singleton, Cal Davies, Trey Booty, RJ Minor, Mike Cupto and Cody Holman each singled.
Trevor Brown and Clark walked two and struck out three.
For Brunswick, Evan Molnar singled twice. Jack Lowell, Adam Nussebaum and Jacob Robinson added singles.
Trey McKenzie, Tanner Rapoza, Thomas Seitz and Matty Laforge took turns on the mound, walking nine and striking out one.
