NEWFIELD — An 18-year-old Newfield motorist escaped injury when his vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof on Bridge Street in Newfield on Saturday night.
York County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of 44 Bridge St. in Newfield at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, said Sheriff Bill King in a statement issued early Monday morning,
Upon arrival, deputies found a 2008 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck was on its roof and Newfield Fire and Rescue was at the scene.
Deputies identified the driver as Noah Steiner, 18, of Newfield.
“Investigation revealed that Steiner was traveling to a friend’s house and was driving too fast around a sharp corner,” said King in the statement.
Steiner lost control of his pickup truck, which caused him to go into the dirt portion on the right side of the road and then fish-tail into an embankment. The truck overturned.
King said tat Steiner was evaluated by Newfield Fire and Rescue at the scene and was not hurt.
No charges are anticipated, the sheriff said.
