FARMINGTON
Zoe Stilphen belted out four hits as the Mt. Ararat High School softball team rolled to a 17-5 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Mt. Blue on Thursday.
Ema Hawkes chipped in three hits, and Kayleigh Temple and Jaden Lohr picked up two hits.
Aislynn Provencher had a pair of hits for Mt. Blue.
On the mound, Camille Rowe earned the win.
Mt. Ararat improved to 5-6 with its fourth straight win and visits Brunswick today at 4 p.m.
Baseball
FREEPORT – Shea Wagner out- dueled Jackson Walker as Freeport earned a 2- 1 win over Morse.
Wagner struck out six for the mound victory, while Walker was just about as solid, striking out four and walked two in a complete-game effort.
Finn Johnston had a pair of hits for the Falcons (9-3).
For Morse ( 5- 8), Asa Hodgdon launched a home run, while Isaiah Cogswell was 3-for-3.
Freeport hosts Poland on Monday, while Morse visits Gardiner on Wednesday.
