
WELLS — The Wells-Ogunquit CSD’s 32nd Annual Literary Achievement Awards ceremony were held on April 26 and will be shown on Spectrum cable Channel 3 in Wells and Ogunquit at the following times through June 2.
The ceremony will air Tuesdays through Fridays at 4 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays at 7.p.m.
This year, 286 Kindergarten through 12th grade students entered this creative writing contest with 61 of them placing. Students entered various forms of creative writing including poetry, non-fiction, and fiction.
WHS senior Elijah Peters won first place for a collection of poems. For this accomplishment he received $500.
The Literary Achievement Awards contest is sponsored by the Wells Rotary Club, the Ogunquit Rotary Club, the Steakhouse in Wells and the Wells-Ogunquit Community School District.
The contest is coordinated for the Wells-Ogunquit CSD by Maryanne Foley and Reg Bennett.
