Freeport will be overrun with Boy Scouts Saturday as L.L. Bean again hosts the annual Scout-o-rama on the grounds surrounding its flagship store.
The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with a parade of scouts down Main Street. They will then convene at the L.L. Bean Discovery Park for a day of activities to which the public is also invited.
“This is a chance for Scouts, families and the public to experience a variety of outdoor sports and activities like archery, fat tire biking, outdoor cooking, skateboarding, and even race a Pinewood Derby car,” said Ken Sparta, program director for the Pine Tree Council of the Boy Scouts of America. “I guarantee it will be a fun time for the whole family and everyone is welcome.”
The Scout-o-rama is an opportunity for youth, families and the public interested in scouting, to see what the program has to offer.
“We are excited that L.L. Bean is again partnering with us to offer this fun, adventure-filled day for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Venturers, Explorers and Sea Scouts,” said Eric Tarbox, chief executive officer and Scout executive at the Pine Tree Council.
