A fire heavily damaged a home in Damariscotta Thursday afternoon and remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
A dispatcher for the Lincoln County Communications Center said the fire at 10 Woods Lane, located off Egypt Road, was reported at 2:54 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, the modern two-story home with an attached two-car garage was fully involved.
A workman was in the home when the fire started, but was able to escape. No other injuries were reported.
The fire spread from the main residence to the attached garage. At around 5:30 p.m. firefighters had the blaze under control and left the scene.
But the dispatcher said an investigator from the State Fire Marshal’s Office is expected to return Friday morning and will attempt to determine the cause of the fire.
