According to York County Sheriff William L. King, Jr., deputies were summoned to a residence in the 2600 block of Portland Road in Arundel about 1 a.m. Sunday for a report of a disturbance.
King said that upon arrival at the scene, deputies learned that Robert Jordan, 33, had allegedly assaulted his girlfriend there.
“An investigation revealed that Jordan had punched and choked his girlfriend prior to the deputies’ arrival,” King said.
Jordan was arrested for domestic violence assault with strangulation and was remanded to the York County Jail in Alfred.
He will be video arraigned on the charges Monday morning.
King said that because of the nature of the domestic violence charges, Jordan is not eligible for bail.
