BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College softball team played its third straight day of doubleheader games and came away with a pair of victories over visiting University of Maine Farmington on Monday afternoon.

The Polar Bears climbed to 29-11 after winning 4-0 in game one and 13-1 in game two. The Beavers fell to 9-21.

Bowdoin meets Middlebury in the opening round of the NESCAC Tournament on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

In the opener with UMF, Kate Hoadley tossed a four-hit shutout over six innings with one strikeout. Samantha Roy tossed a 1-2-3 seventh.

Maddie Rouhana homered for the Polar Bears, while Ali Miller was 2-for-3.

In the nightcap, Lauren O’Shea was 2-for-2 and scored three runs to power the Bowdoin offense. Ruby Siltanen had three hits and drove in a pair of runs.

On the mound, Siltanen went four innings and permitted three hits. She struck out seven.
