SAN FRANCISCO — The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right fielder Yasiel Puig on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a left hip pointer and bruised foot after getting hurt in the field and the plate a day earlier.

Puig was initially injured during the first game of a doubleheader Saturday when he ran hard into a padded wall near right field after making a one-handed catch in foul territory to end the first inning.

Puig stayed down for several moments and was attended to by team trainers before walking off the field. He came out to bat in the second inning, fouled a ball of his foot, then flied out.

Afterward, Manager Dave Roberts said Puig’s foot was more of a concern while Puig didn’t seem too concerned. He sat in a chair with his left leg propped up, a small blue wrap around his foot and joked.

PADRES: San Diego placed outfielder Wil Myers on the 10-day disabled list with a strained left oblique and recalled outfielder Travis Jankowski from Triple-A El Paso.

Myers was hurt while swinging at a pitch in Saturday night’s 12-2 victory against the New York Mets. He stayed in for one more pitch, then came out.

BREWERS: Milwaukee decided to insert Wade Miley into its rotation and move Brent Suter to the bullpen.

Miley will make his first start with the team Wednesday in Cincinnati. He struck out 11 in a start for Double-A Biloxi on Friday, and the Brewers had to make a decision by Sunday whether to add him to the team or allow him to become a free agent.

PHILLIES: Philadelphia placed shortstop J.P. Crawford on the 10-day disabled list with a right forearm strain.

Infielder Jesmuel Valentin was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to replace him on the 25-man roster.

DIAMONDBACKS: Left-hander Robbie Ray left the game against Washington in the bottom of the second with a strained right oblique muscle.

Ray waved to the dugout after throwing a ball to Washington catcher Matt Wieters with one out. Arizona Manager Torey Lovullo and an athletic trainer came to the mound, and Ray soon departed. He was replaced by T.J. McFarland, who surrendered a home run to Wieters.
