The Maine Warden Service on Friday used an airboat to evacuate residents of an Aroostook County town who were stranded by high water from the Madawaska Stream.
The rising water level of the stream due to recent rain and warming temperatures has isolated multiple residents of Westmanland, a town with a population of 62 near New Sweden.
Game wardens used the airboat Friday afternoon to evacuate one woman from her home and bring supplies to other residents, according to the warden service.
Little Madawaska Road in Westmanland is now impassable, according to game wardens.
