Forty condominiums — in 12 buildings — are being proposed for Brunswick Landing.

The Brunswick Planning Board will review the proposal by Brunswick Landing Condominiums at its meeting on Tuesday. The company owns former Navy housing located on 115.8 acres, and is requesting a sketch plan review of the project. The buildings will each contain between two and four dwelling units, all with two-car garages.

The majority of the new buildings would be located adjacent to existing roads, minimizing the need for new infrastructure. The work could start off Anchor Drive.

Last year the property was subdivided into 10 lots, identifying the lots already developed and those slated for future development.

The existing housing was developed prior to 1970 for U.S. Navy personnel stationed at the former naval air station, according to planning documents. Some were demolished in 2003, and the current Mariner Landing and Woodward Village was constructed between 2002 and 2004 — leaving 7 acres left over from the original developed area.

The planning board will still need to conduct a final review before granting final approval for the project.

Also on Tuesday, the board will review a proposed subdivision plan amendment. Stephanie Schmitt, the owner of 17 Stone Ridge Drive in the Crestview Estates subdivision, owns 13 acres and seeks to divide the land into to residential lots.

The planning board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers at Town Hall.
