BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College women’s rugby team will host the fifth annual Polar Bear 7s Rugby Tournament at Pickard Fields on Saturday.
NCAA teams from the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association and top D1 and D2 club sides from USA Rugby will compete in two distinct brackets.
This year’s tournament is a national qualifier — at stake for the winner is an automatic berth to the USAR Women’s Collegiate 7s National Championship in May.
Participating teams from N.I.R.A and U.S.A.R. include American International College, Army, Boston University, Bowdoin, Colby, Dartmouth, Harvard, Middlebury, Norwich, Northeastern University, Maine- Orono and the University of New England.
Round- robin style games within each pool will begin at 10 a.m., with championship rounds beginning at 2 p.m.
