MEDFORD, Mass. — The Bates College women’s tennis team dropped an 8-1 NESCAC decision to sixth-ranked Tufts on Saturday.

The Bobcats (7-4, 1-1 NESCAC) earned their point at No. 2 doubles as Lauren Hernandez and Hannah Sweeney won 8-7 (9-7 in tiebreaker).

Brunswick native Maisie Silverman put on a strong performance at No. 1 singles for Bates, dropping a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Patricia Obeid.

Bates hosts No. 8 Amherst this upcoming Saturday at 9 a.m.
